Trip Summary

Annapurna Round with Tilicho Lake trekking is an incredible trek in the Annapurna region. Tilicho Lake, at 4,919 meters (16,138 feet), is one of the highest lakes on earth and lies in the Himalayas of the Annapurna range, Nepal. This trek begins in Kathmandu, continues with a drive to Besishar, and then a local jeep ride to Chame or Manang. The jeep drive shortens the trek and you will stay in trekking lodges along the way.

The trek passes through beautiful villages in the heart of the Annapurna region, including Thorong La Pass at 5,416 meters (17,769 feet), one of the highest passes in the Annapurna trek. You will traverse a variety of climates and landscapes, from subtropical to alpine, dense forests to snowy mountains. If time permits, you can also do the Annapurna Base Camp trek.

Enjoy the diverse flora and fauna and experience the unique cultures of different ethnicities such as Gurung, Magar, Thakali, Brahmin, and Chhetri. Beautiful rivers, stunning Himalayas, Manang at 3,519 meters, and Tilicho Lake will always welcome travelers. Tilicho Lake (4,949 meters/16,237 feet) is in the Manang district and is known as the highest lake trekking in the world, offering memorable moments. For a shorter tour, you can opt for the Annapurna Base Camp heli tour with amazing views of Mt. Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu.

During the trek, you will have an acclimatization period in Manang to adjust to the high altitude, which helps in crossing Thorong La Pass. After reaching Muktinath, you will feel more relaxed. Muktinath is a place of liberation, famous for both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimages. The trek starts from Besishar and ends in Pokhara.

Trek through the Kaligandaki Gorge, the deepest gorge in the world, and visit Jomsom (2,743 meters/8,999 feet) and Muktinath (3,710 meters), which are key hubs for the Thorong Pass and Upper Mustang trek. Enjoy mesmerizing views of the Himalayas and natural hot springs at Tatopani. Experience the charm of Marpha village, Kagbeni, Dhaulagiri ice falls, and the rich cultures of the local people.
